The Ride!!

Today's ride to Helen and back was just what the Doc ordered. What wasn't on the prescription however was the sunburn I got and the slight road rash that one girl got. Although both cases are light, it still hurt both of us.

The girl fell off the back of a crotch rocket when she was adjusting to get comfortable. At that exact moment the driver changed gears and the bike jolted slightly. Thus gravity took affect and she hit the ground and rolled goin about 10 MPH. Very slight road rash on her side and skinned knuckles. And in true biker fashion, I nicknamed her Tumbleweed.

On the other hand, or arms I should say, I didn't see the need for sunscreen before I left the house. It was slight overcast and the weather was cool. Evendently I pissed off Mother Nature sometime within the past week. As soon as we got on the road good the clouds disappered and the sun came out to play. We arrive in Helen and stop at a local waterin hole, and grab some chow. Its such a nice day so lets sit out on the deck. Everyone gets a spot with a shade umbrella except for guess who, the fair skin Viking. We sit, eat, laugh, have a drink, and laugh. Wait... yeah there was lots of laughin. On the ride back my arms didn't bother me, its when I got in the shower when they got me.

I came up with my own remedy for sunburn, which involes a hot shower and some afterburn spray. It works like a champ, I didn't say it wouldn't hurt, I said it works. So after the HOT shower I relaxed with a nice meal with more friends and a Ice Cold Brew. God I love being in America!!

Amen, brother! Preach on!

I'm glad you enjoyed your ride. It's good to get out there and let it clear your head, isn't it.

A ride to Helen... that's where a blogmeet is supposed to be this fall!
...and, a southern gentleman should know that even an overcast day can burn...:)
Glad you had a good day!

What a day. I imagine that, even with the sunburn, it was a peek into Valhalla itself.

Dang man, that's a good one... tumbleweed... Sunburn happens to me about once a year, and after that I just brown. I've been to Helen back ;) Had a good time. Yabu blew shit up, we watched gold miner's in the Chatahooche in wet suits, and told lots and lots of lies. Oh, don't let me forget... That's when Ohio St. beat Texas. You could've heard a pin drop that night brother... all I could do was grin.

Sounds like it was a great ride. Sigh [envy].

"I didn't see the need for sunscreen before I left the house."

Well, I'm the type that almost always made sure to wear sunscreen when going out. Wouldn't you know - I was diagnosed with skin cancer last year.

So be good to year skin, not only will you look younger always, you'll keep your skin healthy!
