Voting

I was talkin with a few friends the other day, military friends of course, and we stumbled onto the discussion of voting. Naturally since we are all in the military, we know how important it is to vote for the right person.

My recommendation to all military commanders is to encourage all their troops to act now and apply for an absentee ballot. This is a crucial step for those in Iraq. The time it takes the mail to cross the big pond isn't the problem, the speed of which people would act on the paperwork sent to their office is. I think every soldier
should vote for the candidate they choose, whether it is a liberal, tree huggin hippie or not. The men and women in the armed forces should make sure their point of view is noticed so that the politicians can realize they don't know a thing about today's military. I know some may have served "back in the day", but that isn't here nor here.

One of the greatest military leaders of our time, Gen Colin Powell, made the best decision he could have in his situation back when he declined his bid for the presidency. Not because he was black, but because he knows that politicians are back stabbin, money grubbin, mouth breathin, water heads, who do anything to get ahead. And if there are any politicians readin this, especially John Kerry, one question. Are you surprised that an enlisted man in the Army, National Guard no less, actually knows a little bit and has opinions? My rebuttal: Just because I speak slow doesn't mean I'm stupid.
